Venue:
Opera House

Since 2005 The Big Show has become one of the most popular shows in the annual NZ International Comedy Festival promising a line-up of 4 world class comedians each night in a 2 hour show.

Now it's back for you in 2010 at the Opera House with a fresh line-up of international comedy stars including;

Terry Alderton (England)
The man with the record for the most encores at the London Comedystore has one of the most original deliveries in the business. A combination of self-narration and voices in his head along with a destructuring of the entire show that leaves the audience both exhilarated and exhausted with laughter.

Andrew O’Neill (England)
A fresh face on the UK Pro circuit, Andrew was spotted at last years Edinburgh Fringe and picked as one to watch. The sort of cross-dressing, metal head, vegan, occult comedian you could take your mum too!

“An increasingly distinctive, imaginative act … brilliant, genuinely unexpected lines are added to the mix. At this rate, it won’t be long until he’s huge” Chortle.co.uk

Tom Wrigglesworth (England)
A rising star on the UK scene with a real flare for storytelling. Winner of a Chortle Award for ‘Best Show’ with his magical story about his eventful ride on Virgin Rail.

“***** (5Stars) Formidable…beautifully complex material, both hilarious and touching…The gods of comedy chose Tom Wrigglesworth for greatness.”  The Scotsman

MC: Jarred Christmas (NZ/UK)
A Kiwi expat who set up shop in the UK 9 years ago and has since become one of our most successful acts on the competitive pro circuit. Highly regarded for his outstanding rapport with the crowds, Jarred was the ideal choice to host this years Big Show.

Winner of the Chortle Award for Best Compere.
