Live at the St James Theatre, Bonnie Tyler's first ever New Zealand concert.

Two massive worldwide hit singles, ‘It’s a heartache’ in 1978 and the Grammy Award nominated No. 1 ‘Total eclipse of the heart’ in 1983, have permanently etched the name of Bonnie Tyler into the pages of pop music history.

Its taken 30 + years for Bonnie to perform on New Zealand shores but in November for the first time ever, the raspy voiced, Welsh born songstress will perform for you live on New Zealand stages with a full Wellington concert with her UK band.

In 1976, Tyler was spotted in "The Townsman Club" in Swansea by the song writing and producing team of Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe; who became Tyler's managers, songwriters and producers. She was swiftly signed to RCA Records and got Top 10 chart success with her second release in 1976 of her song "Lost in France".

Her success with "Lost In France" led Tyler to record her first album in 1977. Titled The World Starts Tonight, it met with only modest success, but it did well enough that she could tour throughout Europe. Prior to the album's release, Tyler underwent surgery to remove nodules on her vocal cords. Against doctor's orders, she spoke before she had healed, with the result that her singing voice took on a raspy quality. At first, this made Tyler believe her singing career was over. As it turned out, her next single, where she used all of her husky voice's power, made her an international star with "It's A Heartache".

She signed with CBS Records in 1982. Her album, Faster Than the Speed of Night proved an international blockbuster and the single "Total Eclipse of the Heart"topped the charts worldwide including New Zealand, and remained at No. 1 for several weeks. The multi-million selling album "Faster Than The Speed Of Night" shot straight into the UK and New Zealand album charts at No.1, the album is regarded by rock connoisseurs as an operatic masterpiece with its thundering Tchaikovskyesque cannons. The album brought Tyler a 1983 Grammy Award nomination as best Pop Female Vocalist, and the song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" earned her a nomination for best Rock Female Vocalist.

Continuing to be a major concert draw-card in Europe, Bonnie and her band perform and record prolifically, she is now on album No. 16.

Don't miss your opportunity to see Bonnie Tyler for the very first time!.
