David Helfgott

David Helfgott is one of the world’s best loved pianists.

His remarkable life story was the subject of the Oscar-winning film Shine, which won a Best Actor Award for Geoffrey Rush for his astonishingly accurate performance of David.

David Helfgott will perform a virtuosic program of popular works by the great romantic composers including Chopin, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov and, of course, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, with which he dazzled a worldwide audience at the 1997 Oscars.
