The Big Shwop

The Big Shwop is New Zealand's largest eco-fashion event.

The Big Shwop brings together lots of great people and their wonderful wardrobes for an afternoon of shopping - shopping that doesn't make a dent on your bank account or your conscience.

The idea is a simple one - you bring along your unwanted, barely worn, quality,fashionable clothes, and exchange them for any of the other lovely threads on offer.

Refresh your wardrobe for the new season, or completely reinvent your look, its totally up to you.

The Big Shwop is a total shwopping experience. Each event is presented with great live music and heaps of other eco-goodies for you to take away too.

So spend a day out with a bunch of your best friends, your mum, your daughter. Go home at the end of the day, with flash new threads completely guilt free, knowing that your fashion sense hasn't been sacrificed for the environment, and the environment hasn't been sacrificed for fashion either. 

At The Big Shwop you truly can shwop till you drop.

What's The Big Shwop all about?

The idea is a simple one - you bring along up to twenty pieces from your wardrobe that are barely worn quality clothes and exchange them for vouchers.

When the shwop begins, you can 'cash in' your vouchers for any of the other lovely threads on offer. Guilt free shopping straight ahead!

What will happen at The Big Shwop?
People bring in their clothes from 10- 12pm. For each item of clothing suitable for the shwop you receive a voucher. Only well-made, stylish clothes in excellent condition are excepted. One accepted item is worth one shwop voucher.

Make sure you bring in your threads to be dropped off in time, because from 12-1pm, the shwop room will be closed as the clothes are sorted onto racks and into sizes.

At 1pm The Big Shwop will begin. You can use your vouchers in exchange for any item in the Shwop. Simple - a fresh new wardrobe straight ahead!
